Affects of Water Composition on Fish

Just like with humans, nutrients in water affect the lives and health of fish. In order to provide more stable and healthy fish at fish farms, what nutrients do you think are most beneficial to add to the water and why?

  1. Fish need calcium, phosphorus, iodine and fluorine which are needed for the body's growth and repair. However, the water must contain enough oxygen in order for these fish to continue surviving just like humans. Without the oxygen, the pollution can get into the fish and cause death. Humans can consume the pollution and lead to death as well.

  2. I believe that in order to provide more stable fish, we should put more protein and Vitamins: A, E, K, and B's, as well as calcium in the water. Protein and vitamin A helps development in fish, while other vitamins perform an entirely different job. Fish vitamin content deteriorates rather quickly, so regular doses of these nutrients should help stabilize their immune system as well as maintain a healthy digestion process.

  3. Fish need calcium to survive. We should also put better vitamins and proteiins in the water such as vitamins A, B, E and K. Fish need more vitamins than us humans because they get rid of them faster.

  4. Many nutrients are important to have a stable enviroment. Calcium and vitamins are very important to have. Without nutrients fish would die off and water would be not liveable for organisms. So ther needs to have proper nutrients to provide a stable enviroment.

  6. Out of the six main nutrients, fish definitly need vitamins the most in order to live healthy lives. There are a wide variety of vitamins, however, vitamin C is needed the most. Fish need vitamin C the most because it is an antioxidant that helps boost their immune systems.

  10. One of the most important things fish need to survive is oxygen because it helps them live and breathe. There are many different types of nutrients fish need to live in the water and if they get to much eutrophication may start to take a toll on our fish and waters.

  16. Well without the proper nutrients the fish cannot properly prosper. Also if they are just dying off, and we consume more than is being exported from these businesses we are going to put these animals into endangerment and even into extinction. Oxygen I would think would be the most important to add, just because its what the fish breathe and without Oxygen, can a fish live?
